About

Benjamin Rupprecht is a filmmaker from Germany based in Ireland. He has a passion for and creative interest both in fictional and documentary film work as well as any crossover projects with performance and theatre art. He has diverse experience in the production and direction of short films and music videos and has worked as an assistant director in the German and Irish film industry for several years. He is open to any freelance and industry film work, ranging from assistant directing to conceptualizing, writing, directing and editing and always looking for any form of collaborations. Through founding and running Cork’s monthly film talk Out of Frame and the yearly LGBTQ+ focused film festival Priosma, he has gathered experience in programming, event coordination and festival marketing. After a five year academic education, he can offer research skills with a specialised background in Film, Media, Theatre and Historical Studies. He is a recipient of the Lord Puttnam Scholarship 21/22 at University College Cork. He is a founding member and the current co-chair of Screen Cork and is currently enrolling in the Emerge Producers Development Programme by Screen Ireland and Screen Producers Ireland.
